I have to acknowledge the receipt of a copy of Resolutions passed by the Church Committee, requesting (Resolution 9) to provide necessary drawings, etc.
It is probable the gentlemen of the Committee may imagine that this work will be placed on the footing of a Government work, and therefore under the superintendence of the officers of this department; such, however, is by no means the case.
His Excellency the Governor has nevertheless accorded permission to undertake the superintendence of the building, and should the Committee appoint me, it will be my honour to endeavour to...
